Yes! Contact your new Florida school district to schedule an IEP evaluation. Once you have a Matrix Score from a FL IEP, you can apply for Step-Up funding at the appropriate level.
This process takes time — we recommend starting as early as possible to avoid delays in funding.
Your child's Matrix Score is calculated from their current FL IEP and determines their Step-Up funding level. If you don't see a Matrix Score on your child's IEP, contact your school district to request it — this ensures your child receives the full funding amount they're entitled to.

Our Teaching Philosophy
Every Child is Intelligent in their own way
DLC Private School uses Dr. Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences to recognize and nurture each student's unique strengths — because no two learners are alike.

Linguistic-Verbal Intelligence
Exceptional ability to use words skillfully — both in writing and speaking — to express ideas and connect with others.
Logical-Mathematical Intelligence
Skill at reasoning, recognizing patterns, and analyzing problems in a logical, systematic way.
Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence
Mastery of body movement, physical coordination, and using the body as a tool for expression or problem-solving.
Musical Intelligence
Natural talent for thinking in patterns, rhythms, and sounds — and a deep sensitivity to music in all its forms.
Interpersonal Intelligence
Ability to understand, empathize with, and communicate effectively with other people.
Interpersonal Intelligence
Ability to understand, empathize with, and communicate effectively with other people.
Naturalistic Intelligence
Keen sensitivity to the natural world — recognizing, categorizing, and connecting with living things and environments.
Why this matters at DLC: By recognizing all types of intelligence, we tailor instruction to how each child actually learns — building confidence, curiosity, and a genuine love of learning.
